               2012 Azalea Festival Wrap Up

     The 28th Annual Pickens Azalea Festival was a huge success as the rain stayed away Saturday.          

      Highlights of the festival were “Jason D. Williams” rocking the crowd Friday night, and the 7thAnnual Classic Car Cruise seeing record crowds.
      Saturday, good weather prevailed to make for a fun and entertaining day. Some 200 crafters, food vendors, and civic non –profit organizations participated.

      We hoped you enjoyed the Hagood Mill shuttle as many new visitors to Pickens rode the shuttle to tour the historic mill.

 

We also hope you got to watch some of the festival over our website as the event was streamed live during the weekend.

 

      THANKS to our local entertainers who performed on the West End stage sharing their musical and clogging talents.      

      Early Saturday morning some 98 participants came out for the 6th annual 5k walk/run sponsored by the Pickens Women’s Association. 
Two headliner bands wrapped up Saturday nights entertainment, the “Alabama Blues Brothers” and country award winner singer “T. Graham Brown” brought a very successful festival with record crowds to a close.
THANKS our many sponsors for helping to make the 2012 Azalea Festival a reality. We deeply appreciate their financial sponsorship of this important community event. A good time was truly had by ALL!
       Thanks to the City of Pickens, Police Department and Streets & Sanitation workers for their assistance. They are a hard working group of dedicated City employees who helped make the festival possible.      
Thanks to the Pickens Chamber of Commerce, individual volunteers and the Pickens Senior Citizens Center and RoundTowners of Greenville for their help. To The Azalea Festival Planning Committee and those individuals who work for months to create the festival each year. Their ideas and input keep making the Azalea Festival bigger and better each year. 
     Mark your calendars for 2013– third weekend in April for the 29th Pickens Azalea Festival with new activities, attractions and delights. We look forward to seeing you then!
